Description of the Logo of CBR Forum

The logo is created in tune with the concepts referred to in the Vision, Mission and General Objective of the Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) Forum. Each and every figure, shade and colour has a specific meaning in itself. It projects the concepts of human rights, support, empowerment, social inclusion, equal opportunity, community based approach and promotion.

The three human figures represent the persons with disability and the community (of all social strata). The colour code used for the community is brown, while the colour code used for the person with disability is yellow: universally acknowledged as the colour that represents ‘Disability’. The heads of all the human figures are in black to reflect the idea that all human beings have inherent strengths and potentials that can blossom given the right opportunities. Hence, one should not be discriminated on the ground of disability. This represents the idea / concept of equal opportunity.

In the logo the figure of the person with disability is situated at the middle of two members from the community, their hands are joined and are reaching out to reach the skies (as if they have won or achieved). The body language of all the figures is designed to reflect the sense of confidence and freedom. These represent the concepts of promotion, support, empowerment and social inclusion.

The structure of houses and tree represent the concept of CBR Forum being a believer and promoter of the community based approach.

The background of the logo is blue: universally acknowledged as the colour representing ‘Rights/ Human Rights’. This signifies that CBR of persons with disabilities, as promoted by the Forum, is carried forward in the rights based perspective.
